Catching up with Claims Co-ordinator Charlotte Atkins

Thanks to our Claims team’s experience and expertise, we have an excellent track record in this area. Here, we find out more by chatting to Claims Coordinator, Charlotte Atkins,
 
“My job involves setting up new claims and reporting to insurers,” she explains. “This involves liaising with and obtaining updates from insurers and solicitors, before reporting back to clients on the claim’s progression.”
 
Naturally, NLIG always has a client’s best interests at heart, which involves ensuring the correct level of insurance is in place right from the start and responding quickly when a claim is filed and striving to achieve a speedy, satisfactory settlement.
 
“Obviously, we aim to get the best possible result,” says Charlotte, “but it’s very important to manage a client’s expectations about the likely outcome of a claim, particularly where liability is disputed. We have access to market-leading Claims Surveyors and Inspectors, who provide unbiased advice and can guide us through the process in the case of more complex claims. This enables us to provide clients with the highest levels of professionalism and expertise, ensuring we achieve a fair settlement.”
 
A typical day for Charlotte involves keeping track of claims and keeping clients informed. She also obtains claims lists prior to renewal and will always discuss with insurers to see if reserves can be reduced or files closed.
 
“I want to do the very best for our clients. Achieving speedy settlement involves regular communication and a highly organised approach in processing and co-ordinating the claim,” she says. “This is something I take particular pride in, and clients can rest assured I will always act diligently and professionally on their behalf.”
 
Charlotte describes herself as hardworking and caring, and says she particularly enjoys building relationships with clients. Her primary motivation is to get the best possible results for clients. When asked to sum up her job in three words, she answers: “Never the same!”
